Saholic.com, Spice Group's e-commerce company, is providing theft insurance along with its mobile handsets, in an effort to enhance sales worldwide.

Insurance will be provided by New India Assurance for a duration of one year, as reported by Business Standard.

Saholic.com chief executive officer Rajneesh Arora said the company has made the process of getting theft insurance for high-value handsets directly from insurance companies hassle-free.

"At the time of buying the handset, the customer would be given an option to pay 1.5 per cent of the handset cost extra as premium for the theft insurance," Arora added.

More than 35% buyers have bought theft insurance at the time of handset purchase during a company trial, according to Arora.

The company is also planning to extend theft insurance to other mobility products it sells through the e-commerce portal, such as tablets, laptops, accessories and cameras, in the next four to eight weeks.
